At Manis-h, we know that safety and quality in children's furniture begin with the material we build with. That is why we select our raw materials with great care and only work with materials that meet the highest standards.

We use solid beech wood without knots, which provides a wide range of benefits:

Extra strength and durability – beech wood is hard and resilient, so it does not develop dents.

Long lifespan – the furniture can be taken apart and reassembled without the wood crumbling.

Perfect surface – without resin seepage or black marks from knots. This ensures a beautiful and even result.

Ideal for painting – because the wood is clean and uniform, we can achieve a beautiful and durable finish.

The combination of beech wood and solid MDF from approved mills in Europe provides a strong foundation for our furniture. The beech wood comes from certified forests. All MDF is processed in Denmark, where we ensure that the quality meets both our own and the authorities' requirements.

An important part of the safety of our furniture is the environmentally friendly water-based lacquer we use for surface treatment. The lacquer provides a beautiful and smooth finish that is both pleasant to touch and durable in everyday use.

Our lacquer is completely harmless and free from dangerous chemicals. It has been tested and approved according to the strict European safety standards for baby furniture as well as high beds and bunk beds – so you can be completely confident that the surface is safe even for the youngest children to use.

At the same time, the lacquer ensures that the colour remains beautiful and unchanged over time. Unlike stained pine furniture, which often yellows or is affected by sunlight, our furniture retains its appearance for many years to come.

At Manis-h, we know that when it comes to children's furniture, it is not enough for the materials to be strong and the surface to be beautiful. Stability, spacing and construction are at least as crucial for your child's safety.

That is why all our products are safety-tested by an independent party – the Danish Technological Institute. Here, the furniture is reviewed according to the strict European requirements in the EN 747 standard for high beds and bunk beds. This standard specifies exactly which openings and distances are permitted in order to avoid the risk of suffocation, ensure that small arms and legs do not get trapped, and that the distance from the mattress to the bed edge provides safe sleep.

We also test that the slatted base can withstand more than just sleep – namely bedtime stories with mum or dad, everyday play and children's natural movement and curiosity. A bed must be stable – and while other beds may require wall mounting to stand securely, this is unnecessary with ours. With solid beech wood and sturdy MDF, a Manis-h bed stands stable and secure on its own.
