About the product

Create a Montessori-inspired floor bed with slat base – the bed after the baby bed

Create a safe and cozy sleeping place with a low floor bed inspired by the Montessori philosophy. The bed is designed at child height, so the child can crawl in and out of bed themselves – at their own pace. This strengthens the child's independence, motor skills, and sense of freedom in everyday life.

The low Montessori bed provides a calm and safe sleeping environment where the child can develop naturally and securely.

This model is without a safety rail on the front, so during the day, the bed can be used as a play bed, or cozy corner without the bed rail being an obstacle.

A bed rail can of course be added, so the bed can also be chosen:

- with a junior safety rail
- with a solid safety rail for extra security
- with an elegant spindle safety rail in Nordic design

The bed is designed as a flexible solution that can follow the child for many years. When the child gets older, the bed can be easily rebuilt by replacing the legs, so the floor bed can later be used as:

mid-high bed
bunk bed
classic single bed / child's bed

In addition, when the bed is raised, it can be supplemented with:

- practical storage drawers under the bed
- a pull-out bed for guests or extra sleeping space for overnight stays

This makes the bed a long-term solution that grows with the child – from the first years and well into childhood.

Note, this is the Huxie system – and this model cannot be used as a lower bunk for your bunk bed. However, you can purchase extra legs for this bed, so it becomes part of the Huxie system and can later be rebuilt and expanded into a higher bed, regular child's bed, mid-high bed, and bunk bed.

With its simple and functional Danish design, the bed fits beautifully into a child's room, a teenager's room, and a guest room – and it can easily be combined with a mattress of your choice.

All our beds are tested and approved according to European requirements by the Danish Technological Institute:
- Baby cots: EN 716 (European standard for safety in baby cots).
- High and bunk beds: EN 747 (openings, distances, stability, etc.).
- Changing tables: Tested for stability, surfaces, etc. according to the current European safety standard EN 12221
- Textiles & mattresses: OEKO-TEX® – tested for harmful chemicals.

Important for you:

- Pay attention to the mattress height in relation to the bed rail/side – we note this clearly so that your child always sleeps safely.
- The surface is painted with water-based, harmless varnish.
- All distances and openings follow the regulations to avoid choking and crushing hazards.
- The bed is tested for everyday life – including bedtime stories with mom or dad.
- Always read the instructions carefully and retighten screws/bolts regularly.
